Jovana Backovic

Jovana Backovic is born in Belgrade, Serbia where she graduated composition on Faculty of Music Art 2006.

Apart from Arhai project, she composes music for feature and documentary movies and often performs as a vocalist, singing Serbian and other traditional music from the region.

Currently her interest lies within the field of electroacoustic music – exploring the process of the creation and development of individual music identity through improvisation and use of technology, which are the main subjects of her PhD thesis.
